Residential Solar

Home solar designed for how San Diego actually uses energy

A residential system that pays off long-term needs to match your roof, your rate, and your real load — including the EV in the garage and the storage system that will follow. Perk Solar designs accordingly.

The right system, sized right

Solar, storage, and EV-ready electrical in one design

Most residential customers come to us for solar, but the right answer is usually a coordinated plan: solar, the battery you will add now or later, and a panel that is ready for the EV charger.

  • 01Rooftop PV designed around your shading and actual usage
  • 02Tesla Powerwall and other batteries for backup and TOU
  • 03EV-ready main panel and Level 2 charger installation
  • 04Service, repair, and upgrades for existing systems
  • 05Solar Orphan Rescue for systems other companies abandoned

How an install runs

Four steps from utility bill to powered-on system

01

Send a bill

Recent SDG&E or other utility bill. We model your actual usage and what solar plus storage would do for your bill over the next 12 months.

02

Site walk

Roof inspection, shading analysis, panel review, and an honest answer on whether solar still pencils for your home.

03

Design + permit

Full engineering, utility interconnection, AHJ submittal, HOA paperwork if applicable. We track the work.

04

Install + service

Code-compliant install, commissioning, and a service relationship that does not end at PTO. We service what we install.

Where residential fits best

Six configurations we see across San Diego County

01

Standard rooftop PV

Sized to your actual load and shading. Designed around self-consumption under NEM 3.0, not export credits.

02

Solar + storage

Tesla Powerwall or Enphase IQ Battery paired with solar. The math under NEM 3.0 favors storage from day one.

03

Critical-load backup

Smaller battery sized to keep refrigeration, medical, networking, or essential circuits running through outages.

04

EV-ready electrical

Panel upgrade planning, EV charger circuit included in the design. Plan once instead of doing change orders later.

05

NEM 2 → NEM 3 retrofit

Existing customers lost most of their export value. Retrofit a battery and turn that production back into real savings.

06

Solar Orphan Rescue

We service residential systems other installers walked away from. Diagnostics, repair, retrofit, monitoring restoration.

Engineered for NEM 3.0

01

Export rates have collapsed — storage is now part of the math

02

We design around self-consumption, not export credits

03

Retrofits available for existing systems built under NEM 2.0
